(October 28, 2008 Flemington, NJ) Roman Jewelers hosted a fall/winter Dress for Success women’s clothing drive on Sunday, October 26, 2008. The drive was held at the Roman Jewelers Flemington and Bridgewater Commons stores.
The clothing drive was conducted by Dress for Success of Morris County, a non-profit organization whose goal is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women and to help them make a new start in the working world. Women are referred to Dress for Success Morris County from all over New Jersey by social service agencies and other not-for-profit organizations.
Each Dress for Success Morris County client receives approximately one week’s worth of clothing and accessories that are appropriate for work in an office. This includes not only clothing, but purses, shoes and jewelry as well. Clients pay no fees for these services, and are also offered career development opportunities through the Professional Women’s Group and the Career Center. This well rounded approach, combined with encouragement and renewed confidence, helps women to become and remain employed.
Dress for Success Worldwide was founded in 1997 and has opened affiliate offices in over 80 cities in seven countries globally.
The local response to the clothing drive at both Roman Jewelers locations on October 26th was so generous that the organization needed to make several trips back to their headquarters to transport all of the items.
